The four day Royal Highland Show, showcasing rural and agricultural life, is one of the UK's top agricultural events attracting more than 150,000 visitors. For Scotland’s farming and rural community, it is one of the most important events of the year. The SNP Government has made sustainable economic growth its core purpose and agricultural and food policy is a key element. This special report previews the show with features on how climate change will affect agricultural production, the role of supermarkets, sustainability in the food supply chain, and the results of the Government's consultation on its proposed national food policy.
